Marco Testoni, Nicola Alesini, Max Di Loreto (2012)

Pollock Project is the last album of Marco Testoni and Nicola Alesini, a musical tribute to the beauty of free creativity, allusions to contemporary art are fundamental. The title of the album refers above all to the improvisational aspects of Jackson Pollock’s practice of action painting, but there is also a tribute to Marcel Duchamp in the track “Unnecessary”, as well as “Rivoli 59”, a track dedicated to the artistic experiences of the organized squatters in Paris. Finally, “Songlian” is inspired by the subtle atmosphere of the celebrated Chinese film Raise the Red Lantern. Last but not least, the cover of the album features a watercolour painting by Antonia Carmi, an Italian painter now working in the United States, who is the daughter of Eugenio Carmi, one of the founders of the Italian abstract art movement

On 2007 the Italian label Tre Lune Records releases "WAG - World Acoustic Guitars vol.1" , composed of 17 selected tracks for travelling around the world of contemporary acoustic guitar and its techniques fingerstyle, tapping, flatpicking, flamenco, classical.
17 wonderful musicians from different contries (Italy, Spain, Argentina, United States, Canada, Germany and Sweden) participate to the collection. Among the most elegant contemporary fingerstyle players, we meet Alex de Grassi, Peter Finger, Don Ross, Franco Morone, Steffen Basho-Junghans and Del Vezeau, while as representative guitarists of "mixed" technique and genres we find Forastiere (rock-blues), Sergio Altamura (folk-ethnic), Dominic Frasca (minimalism), Billy McLaughlin (tapping), Antonio Forcione (with a powerful articulated blues of "acoustic revenge" as last track of the album). Beppe Gambetta, in duo with the bassist Glen Moore, plays a fandango dance in flatpicking.
From the Latin musical world, amazing tunes are played by the virtuoso duo of Luis Salinas with Tomatito, and of Jordi Bonell with Dani Perez, followed by the precious dreaming jewel of Vicenç Solsona; then the performance of the Italian Michele Ascolese trio offers a tribute to his neverending source of inspiration, Latin America. Last but not least, the Swedish duo of Mats Hedberg & Christer Häggner describes a suggestive Scandinavian landscape. 70 minutes of great music that guitar lovers cannot miss, discovering all the chances that this extraordinary instrument gives. DISCRETA (Stefanie Ringes & Michele Ascolese)
The French-Argentinian singer Stefanie Ringes and the guitarist Michele Ascolese, who featured on Fabrizio De Andrè’s last albums, have reinterpreted the atmosphere of the milonga and the tango in a contemporary way. Discreta is a track in which the Mediterranean and Latin touch of Michele Ascolese’s guitar gracefully accompany the modern sensuality of the voice of Stefanie Ringes.

WE ALREADY KNOW (Elisabeth Cutler)
Elisabeth Cutler is a singer songwriter from Boston who belongs to the best American song writing tradition. Her style is permeated by jazz and the blues and is enriched with a profound European taste and mood thanks to the arrangements of Filippo De Laura.

AU DEHOR - AMOR VIOLAPROFONDO (Turkish Café)
Turkish café are an acoustic trio. It was founded in 2008 near the Turkish quarter of Brussels, by the Italian-Argentine guitarist Julian Corradini. Their repertoire of intense and engaging songs is perfectly interpreted by the splendid voice of Veronica Ponzo and the double-bass of Simone Giorgini, and is in the tradition of the most refined Italian, French and Latin-American songs.

AMABURON (Loveth IPC Okoro)
The Nigerian singer Loveth IPC Okoro is an exponent of the African "new spiritual". In the autobiographical song Amaburon – which means "revelation" in Nigerian in nigeriano – the beautiful intertwining vocal harmonies and distinctive poly-rhythmic textures lead us back to the roots and the purest essence of the spirituality of African music.

FINO IN FONDO (Miriam Netti)
The sensual and elegant songs and music of Miriam Netti – here accompanied by a formidable quintet of musicians from various different countries who are active in the new jazz scene of Berlin – is a blend of styles with a Latin flavour that is expressed through a boundless love for the bossa nova, jazz and Italian songs of the ‘60s.

YEMAYA' (Yemaya')
Yemayà is a Latino music band specializing in salsa, mambo and fusions of cultures and rhythms. The small orchestra was founded by two Argentine brothers who moved to Italy in the ‘80s: the singer Henry Flores and the percussionist Kayro Flores. The music of Yemayà, supported by a formidable wind and horn section, transmits pure energy.

BARCO NEGRO (E102)
A classic of the "fado" repertoire is revisited in the visionary style of E102, one of the most original trip-hop bands of the independent Italian scene in the last decade. The vocalist Claudia Bidoli, who has rightly become one of the best non-Portuguese fado singers, expresses the purest essence of Lusitanian song with great intensity.

THE JUMPING CLOWN (Marco Testoni & Hang Camera / feat. Billy Cobham)
This is the sunniest song from the album Impatiens by Marco Testoni and his Hang Camera ensemble of percussionists. The magical and evocative sound of the Hang and Caisa Drum features prominently in a track where the poetry of rhythm and song intermingle with the fantastic rhythmic textures of the drums of Billy Cobham, the father of modern drumming.

E102 (2003)

"Piuma" is the album of E102 of 2002. Their music project is an original synthesis of italian songwriter and jazz that moves within an indefinable territory hung between minimalism and mediterranean traditional music. The quartet songs, refined and intense, sound like emotional landscapes drawn by evocative melodies that often play on out of focus and estranged harmonic frames.
E102 music and lyrics mingle as by subtraction thus creating a peculiar sonic impressionism, an elegant essentiality echoed by the choice of semi-acoustic sounds that don't deny sudden and whimsical raids into electronica.

Marco Testoni & Hang Camera (2009)

Marco Testoni is an extraordinary percussionist, composer and producer, whose album Impatiens featured the collaboration of Billy Cobham, the father of modern drumming. With the striking and suggestive sound of his set of Caisa drums (new generation metallophones belonging to the same family of the more famous Caribbean steel drums) Marco Testoni has once again brought out the capacity of percussion to fully express the "lyricism of rhythm", which represents the deep essence of his musical style. Through its timbric magic this type of percussion is able to express to the full the distinctive style of percussion ensemble of Hang Camera (Max Di Loreto, Sergio Chiesura and the Swedish guitar-player Mats Hedberg), which ranges from ambient music to nu-jazz, with polyrhythmic suggestions of traditional folk music, references to the minimalism of Steve Reich and hints of Pat Metheny. All of this is pervaded by fascinating asymmetric rhythms inspired by Sephardic music.
